Illegal Ingredients in Products

Not sure if this is Tru or not, but this got my attention April 14, 2015:

Let's have a look at these ingredients:

Amp ~ Also called Methylpentane which is a chemical that is similar to the unsafe chemical 1,3-dimethylamylamine (DMAA) that has been banned by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Bitter Orange Extract(synephrine) is considered a banned substance by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)

Bioperine ~ is an extract derived from black pepper
Very few human studies with bioperine have been published. Initially, some people can suffer from mild fever and diarrhea after taking bioperine. One person reported hair loss.

Breastfeeding teens and women 2.0 mg
This product contains 30mg!

Does this mean you are ingesting too much?

""taking high levels of vitamin B6 from supplements for a year or longer can cause severe nerve damage, leading people to lose control of their bodily movements. The symptoms usually stop when they stop taking the supplements.
Other symptoms of too much vitamin B6 include painful, unsightly skin patches, extreme sensitivity to sunlight, nausea, and heartburn""

What Derek Bailey has to say about this via facebook:
sent to me by an unnamed source

"We receive *very* few reports of people having negative experiences with the TruWeight&Energy, and the ones we do receive are generally very minor."

What are those negative experiences? Were any of those reported to the FDA?

I would like to know and as Derek states "What I am saying is that it's worth looking at all the information available."
I will email him and see what his reply, if any will be. Keep you posted.

From the mouth of Derek himself "The last thing anyone should do when making up their minds about the veracity of any information is to put any kind of stock in a sensationalist piece of news media with highly questionable credibility."

I hope people remember that when they look at those fake testimonials put out by their people.

Here is his post sent to me via an anonymous source:

""A note on "safety":
Normally, I wouldn't comment on safety or efficacy in my facebook page, but there have been quite a few people discussing it today. These are my personal thoughts on the matter. The following are a few things to consider when evaluating this situation. I'll be including all the links from which I've compiled this information. (so you guys know I'm not just pulling this stuff out of thin air)
Some people have concerns about one of the ingredients in our TruWeight & Energy. AMP is a substance that occurs in some types of tea. There are some who are claiming it is potentially dangerous because of some chemical similarities to DMAA, a substance that has been banned by the FDA. Let's talk about that ban for a second.
The FDA banned DMAA after it received 86 complaints about potential negative side effect that people had experienced with it. This was during a 5 year period between 2008 and 2013. This works out to a little less than 18 complaints a year. There were also 5 deaths that were 'possibly' associated with DMAA, 3 of which were determined after the fact to have not been related to the DMAA. There were thousands and thousands of people taking supplements with DMAA in them during this time. (http://nyti.ms/1BTuxjf)
Now let's turn the tables a bit. The FDA allows the sale of Tylenol and other products containing acetaminophen (here's a list of 46 brand names that use it as an ingredient: http://bit.ly/1vPflSl ) According to data that was compiled by the FDA itself, acetaminophen is directly involved in up to 980 deaths a year. (http://bit.ly/1t3oI3R)
Another interesting statistic is the number of people killed each year by doctors themselves. They even have a specific word for it - Iatrogenesis. At approximately 225,000 deaths per year, the only things more deadly than doctors themselves are cancer and heart disease. (http://bit.ly/1vRHrhD)
Now, I'm certainly not saying that doctors are evil or bad, they do amazing things and have extended lifespans for millions. I'm also not saying that acetaminophen should be pulled from the shelves. What I am saying is that it's worth looking at all the information available. Based (only) on this proceeding information, it would appear that doctors and OTC painkillers are pretty dang dangerous. But the FDA is certainly not about to ban doctors. It's certainly not going to ban Tylenol. So why is whether or not the FDA has banned a random compound worth even considering in this case? If that were our only standard for determining safety we would live in a world without doctors or many other drugs that help millions. (and DMAA would almost certainly be legal) If by associating AMP with DMAA some people are made nervous about that product, then it probably makes sense to know a little about the basis for its ban. Having reviewed the information, personally, I find the ban to be based on extremely flimsy evidence. Ultimately, DMAA is not AMP, so it's very misleading to treat the two like they're the same compound. (as was essentially done in the piece I reviewed)
What I will say is that I am, personally, 100% comfortable taking our products. I do it every day. So do my parents. (Obviously, I want them around as long as possible) So do many other people that I love dearly. The last thing I would ever want to do is put them in harm's way. I've seen no compelling information to believe anything in our products is dangerous. Furthermore, we receive *very* few reports of people having negative experiences with the TruWeight&Energy, and the ones we do receive are generally very minor. Ultimately, if you're nervous about the products, the solution is simple. Don't take them. If, on the other hand, you're happy with them, keep taking them. That's really the bottom line. The last thing anyone should do when making up their minds about the veracity of any information is to put any kind of stock in a sensationalist piece of news media with highly questionable credibility.
In the meantime, more and more people are experiencing the benefits of our products every day. That's what I'm choosing to focus on.""

Well, I guess you can bury your head any way you like and focus on anything that make you sleep better at night, but the facts are the facts and they aren't going anywhere.

  1. I will not comment about the ingredients because Derek Bailey did such a wonderful job explaining already. No reason to reiterate the facts. However, I am going to personally comment and say that this product is helping so many people with their weight, their migraines, their anxiety and much much more. Unless you have personally tried the product for yourself, then you truly do not know the benefits that TruVision has to offer you. I am also 100% comfortable taking this product myself as well as sharing it with others who so desperately want to lose weight. Especially after the other products and companies out there have failed them time and time again - but we won't mention the names of the other companies because why do I get the impression you are a consultant from another company who is losing customers and associates over TruVision Health. Just my two cents.

    3. I normally wouldn't reply to someone's post but I do feel in this case it was necessary...

I did try TruVision and tried it for about 3 weeks before stopping it, in the first day of taking this product it caused heart populations and made me feel as if I had about 10 cups of coffee so I contacted my TruVison Adviser who sold me the product and asked if that was normal and was told yes some have that issue and to just take two tablets once a day which I did! Mind you I asked her lots of questions before even taking this product due to the fact I have a thyroid condition and wanted to make sure it would be fine and was told " I have many clients who have thyroid issues on medication and they have no issues, just take it 2hrs after taking your meds like you would with anything else"! Which I did... So let me get down to what happened to me which nearly killed me where my husband rushed me to the ER while at the movies with my kids...

The day I stopped taking TruVison was due to the increase of bad headaches I was getting the day after I stopped I met up with my husband with our kids at a movie, during the movie my head was pounding and I started to feel very strange and feel sick.. My legs felt really strange and I had chest pain j lasted as long as I could so my husband and my kids started to leave the movie theater got to a trash can and I vomited three times by then my husband had been askin question and I couldn't remember where I was, where I parked my car! My husband was freaking out he rushed me to the hospital and while there I was very sick I could t remember how to spell my name, birth date.. My blood pressure was checked right away and was extremely high and mind you I'm 36 I'm quite young! I was rushed to the back and out on fluids, heart monitor and even had a EKG because of how concerned everyone was that I ha a stroke! While I was giving something to slow my heart rate down and Benadryl to help, during this time my HR bumped to 198 and had a seizure due to HR being so high and I could feel my heart beating so fast that I was in pain and the nurse and doctor told me I nearly went into a cardiac arrest! I went through a week of off and on seizures due to this product messing with my thyroid medication and because of the ingredients in TruVision!! I had a follow up with my doctor and I was scolded and told that TruVision is very bad and the reason it's even able to get sold without FDA being invoked is because it gets passed as a vitamin supplement!! I was told that what it contains is very dangerous and that I'm lucky to be here... What I went through was terrifying and terrifying to my children as they saw first hand what happened to me and seeing me go to the hospital..

So I say this to those thinking about taking this product think twice, also want to add j told the lady who sold me the product what happened do you think she cared?! NOPE she didn't I was deleted from a group and blocked!! I was very angry as all she saw me as was $$$!!

    5. I have been taking TruVision for 8 months, I have had no problems, I have lost 51 lbs and am continuing. I am not dieting, I just don't desire the foods I used to eat, so I'm making better choices. I am 69 years old, I have fibromyalgia and hyperthyroidism. I took the pills to my primary physician, to a heart doctor (no, I have no heart problems, just aging so Medicare requests tests and to my rheumatologist, they all told me it was safe to take, only 1 said it's safe but he would like to have more information of how much of the ingredients were in it. I don't discount anyone else's problems but I am doing good.

    1. I have to agree. Anyone in a MLM is passionate about their business and that is the bottom line. I know because I too was in an MLM. I have tried pretty much everything in the weightloss realm. I have yet to find a miracle. I even went down a wrinkle cream journey recently thinking....this is it. Well that was like putting calamine lotion on your face and by the time you got your make up on it looked caked. When I You Tubed the product that had a 90 year old looking younger. So my opinion is...I will not knock the product as I have not tried it. I will tell you through all of the years and money wasted I have found that the only true thing that works is eating right and working out. Do I like my donuts? Yes I do! Do I like working out? No I don't. What I have found is that the older you get....you just have to move your caboose. Also there is no fountain of youth. Drink Plenty of water (which i'm awful at) plus a good moisturizer. Some of these Hollywood stars look like the caught their lips in the car door! Lol. I WILL take the aging process. Plus If your boobs are up to your nostrils and your 60? Well....those aren't real either. That just isn't possible unless its surgically done. We all want the skinny, youthful easy way out. Including me! But I think we all need to look at being realistic.
My friend is trying this weight loss product. I am anxious to see if it works for her. As for now....Ill continue my workouts and work on my bad eating habits. I will never say I won't try this product. But if I had all the money back I spent on weight loss tactics....I would be one rich woman. I even tried the fiber lashes thing. I found I ended up w black fibers on my face before the evening was done. There are no right or wrong answers. Just opinions of people who have been there and see it for what is is.

  4. I just received a free week trial of the TruVision Weight and Energy. On day 4 I broke out in a hives type rash all over my body that resulted in a doctors visit. The doctor advised I stop taking the supplement immedietly and prescribed some OTC medications to coutneract the allergic reaction. So my free trial ended up costing me a doctors visit and medications. I should note that I have no food or drug allergies. I don't know what specific ingredient I reacted to, but I know that taking this trial was the only thing I did different, and I won't be taking it again. Since my reaction I learned that the AMP ingredient was on the banned ingredients list, which led me to this article.

My suggestion to you, is to take the time to file a report with the FDA. These so called formulators have been around many years putting people's health at risk.

  5. Your rash reaction is most likely toxins coming out of your body, poisons that accumulate throughout your system, that is one of the first things that take place. it happened to my granddaughter also, but she continued to take it, it cleared up and she is feeling much better in every way ..

First off, this article has nothing to do with me.
Second, do you really think that someone that makes a living off of taking advantage of people is going to tell you that products are anything but safe and effective.
Thirdly, if you are going to post on my blog your business link and state that you have had NO negative side effects and ask people to message you if they want a better life, then you need to get your head examined, and you need to make sure that you carry insurance so that when these people message you and try a product that you sell them, and then wind up with any side effect you are covered when they sue you and take any penny that you may have made.
      Lastly: "Beliver" is spelt "B E L I E V E R"

It controls my appetite and cravings. I do not eat sugar like I did before either as I am not craving it. I am going to send the ingredient Lists to some friends of mine in the medical field and get their opinions. I'm not saying someone is right or someone is wrong but if It is a bad product (which I personally do not believe It is.....why do I feel better than I have in so long? I do want people in the medical field to look at the list. I encourage it. I'm a fan Of this product based on how I feel. Every Body is different and this may not be for every body. As a 41 year old woman who had a hysterectomy at age 37 I could look at a piece of cake and gain 10 lbs this is amazing for me. I feel in control for once. I think Ill send some emails and do some research.

I have also taken the box of TruVision to my dr who reviewed the ingredients and cleared everyone of them and said it was safe for me to take and urged me to try it and I will continue to take it as long as my dr says its safe

When you write an opinion paper, no matter how much you don't agree with the oppositional side, you are still supposed to include their opinion. Truvision is a product that has helped many people, and if you can't understand that even if it doesn't help everyone that maybe it has helped some? Not everyone's bodies are the same, and no product will help everyone but they can still help a percentage of people!

  17. I have a real testimonial. I was already on a the ADA recommended diabetic diet due to gestational diabetes and then being considered pre-diabetic. The only change I made was to start these supplements. From mid-May to mid-Sept (4 months), I lost 15 lbs, went down 3 dress sizes and down 5 waist sizes. I stopped taking my prescriptions for chronic nerve damage to both legs and migraines after 5 weeks of being on the supplements. I hadn't taken my UC script in two weeks because I had forgotten it at home while out of town. I have not had a single migraine (or even a headache) since being on the supplements (was having migraines every 2-3 days). I have stopped having nerve pain, numbness, tingling in both legs since I started the supplements. I have stopped having daily spikes and plummets of my blood sugar and no more lightheaded or dizziness as a result since I started the supplements. I have not had a single flare-up and have stopped having severe bloating since starting the supplements. Lastly, I was having a UC flare-up at the time I started the supplements and like I said I had left my meds for it at home while out of town. The flare-up went away within a few days of starting the supplements and I never started taking the prescriptions for it again. My testimonial is not fake. I actually have no association as of this post with Tru because I get the supplements from my Mother and have never signed up with them. I am real!!!

Your blog shouldn't be hearsay or try to have letters from or written to the fda when the fda has shunned drugs that are effective with no real evidence of harmful side effects and approved drugs that have killed people. There are very few drugs out there that someone out of the billions of people on earth doesn't have a reaction to. Would you be writting this dreck if it was a prescription drug? And then calling people names who don't see your point of view really shows your authenticity as a writter. Delete my post and crawl back in your hole. 27. I can only speak for myself. I have suffered from chronic migraines over 20 years. I have been on every preventative medication on the market and have had extreme side effects. I suffer from migraines 2-4 a week with pain almost every single day. On Sept 24 I received my trial of TV and I did not have a single headache other than the day I started.. I received another trial pack, no headaches.. I then ordered a month supply and low and behold, I had 2 headaches that month.. I knew I would be taking these forever so I signed up as an associate on November 23rd. Today is December 30th and since September 24th, I have had 4 headaches total...
    Coincidence? I think not..!

  28. Wow, this Carrie person is really some expert. People have positive experiences and she calls them names. Classy....NOT! I know of people who have (taking TruVision)... Had their Dr.s take them off of their type 2 meds, & lose up to 100 lbs without diet or exercise. Criticize that, I'm sure you will. Do I sell it? No. Do I know someone that does? Yes. Does it work for everyone? No. People who are most unhealthy often have more positive effects. It did nothing for me, but I'm the most healthy person I know. I am glad it does help many others though. It is helping change many peoples' lives.

  31. Just my two cents here... I took Truvision yesterday and today. Not for me. Severe nausea, dizziness, and heart palpitations. This doesn't mean it's not good. It just means it's not good for me.

  32. This product works for me. Im on my 3rd week and i no longer have cravings for sugar. I have alot more energy to get through the day. I don't need energy drinks. I no longer need that cup of coffee and sugar hit in the afternoons. I have lost weight and my clothes fit better. The only side effects i had was in the first week, and i put that down to my body detoxing. The side effects i had were headaches. After the first week i havnt had another. I think its awesome, and as long as i keep seeing results, ill keep taking tru vision

  34. Mind over matter. It's all a placebo effect. Is there any actual scientific evidence that backs this up? I know people who take this and it motivated them to start eating healthier and exercise more and they lost weight... but honestly I think it was due to them changing their lifestyle. There is no scientific evidence this works.... show me scientific evidence and a few studies done on a scientific level to convince me. Guarantee it will never happen. Just throwing money down the drain like all other weight loss supplements. Take your $150 and put it towards healthy organic food. Keep exercising. That's all it takes.

  36. I know everyone is different, but wanted to give my experience. The first day I took TruVision I felt great. However, days 2-4 I felt so sick I had to stop them - I felt jittery and "out of it". This is day 2 of being completely off of them and I'm starting to feel better now. When I was looking out on the web for testimonials 99% of the people who said it was "great" are actually associates and do sell the product. I was looking for people who were just "buyers" and what their experiences were. I did lose 4 lbs being on it for 4 days, but I think I will go back to weight watchers as that worked for me in the past and I did lose 80lbs - and that's only $20 per month vs. $100 per month. Just my take on it, I'm not speaking for everyone, just wanted to share my experience. Also, I don't think supplements should make anyone feel this way.

  37. I have been taking this product for about a month now; I had fallen VERY ill over the last few weeks, went to the doctor took blood ran several test and NOTHING was wrong. So why was I so sick? Why was I nauseous? Why couldn't I sleep? Why would I get dizzy out of the blue and be VERY light headed. As soon as I stopped taking this product I immediately felt better... I'm just finding this article because I wanted to know if anyone other than myself had experienced this.

    1. Maybe be too much info but I forgot to add when I was sick and nauseous I would burp and I felt like I could taste the pills.. I have no idea why that was but that's just my experience. I apologize if that was too much.

  39. i started taking truvision about a week ago and just two days prior i started getting pains in my left arm and around my chest. also had some stabbing pains in my right side. not sure if this is because of the truvision or something else, but i'm trying not to jump to conclusions and panic. i'm going to continue taking the pills on the off chance that it's all in my head because i have felt a lot less bloated and my work clothes are not as tight now, just a week after starting them.

i'll try to keep everyone updated.

  40. I have been taking this for three days on the trial pack. Negatives: burpy/heart burn feeling, nausea/upset stomach, sleeplessness (feel tired at night but wired with mind very active and feeling tired but body feels edgy and will not relax to sleep), heart feels strained or tight but no real shortness of breath or anything, dry mouth (also really bad), and constipation. Positives: less cravings, abnormally easy ability and desire to eat better foods and avoid anything junky, increased taste sensitivity (taking a bite of pizza grosses me out now, but having a whole fish filet and salad tastes awesome, which is a real benefit). I am thinking about taking one pill of trufix and trucontrol. I started taking to speed up fat loss since I was already losing weight with diet and excercise. I have upped my water as of today to help with the dryness, but not sure what to do about the nausea or sleeplessness. I am 215lbs and a 35-yr old female. I can see how real weight loss could occur for heavier people because it really does take cravings down and makes it easier to choose better foods. I actually wondered if it helps grow protein loving bacteria in the gut or something because I can't seem to get enough protein. Really dislike not sleeping, but maybe it will go away if I reduce to 1 pill of each. The weird heart feeling and digestive issues worry me the most. -Michelle

  42. My sister starting taking truvision about 1 month ago she has several medical issues to many to name but she started losing weight and had more energy with none of the jitters. I tried the sample pack and I have to say I have pros and cons. Pros sorry if TMI return of sex drive and increased sensitivity was a pro I wasn't expecting, my shirt felt a lil looser. No jitters which I have tried MANY weight loss products over the years but they all gave me jitters but not this one. Cons I did notice imy patience were short and it gave me slight only slight agitation at times. But the BIGGEST CON for me was a dry nasty taste in my mouth that didn't go away the whole week I took it. With that being said I believe with more time I wil see better results so I just started on another 2 week supply after taking the week supply a month ago. If all goes well I will continue taking after the 2 weeks and will update you in a few days. I do believe this product works but I also believe it's not for everyone.

  43. 3 days and I took a break as I couldn't sleep, felt I was losing touch with reality and my face broke out. I don't know about the " you're detoxing" advice...I'm a very healthy person, and meth makes you break out too, but you aren't detoxing. I'm going to try again next week. I'm a landscaper and working outside in the heat with Truvision might not be the best. We'll see. I want to lose 20 lbs and am hoping this will do it.

  44. I am going to share a scary story with you, Too much of the B6 in this product DOES CAUSE TEMPORARY PARALYSE. I was sitting in the bathtub and for about a couple minutes, I could not move my right side. This happened a couple times this week, with the bathtub incident the worse. I started with a process of elimination. But after reading this article, I am convinced that Tru Vision caused this. Be Careful People.!
